The 27th edition of Cantine Aperte at San Martino (read: Open Wineries at Harves Time) is just around the corner. On 9th and 10th of November 2019, some of the best wineries will open their doors throughout Friuli Venezia Giulia, the most North-Eastern region of Italy, home of famous wines as Sauvignon, Friulano, Pinot, Traminer, Malvasia, Ribolla Gialla, Refosco, Schioppettino, Terrano, Cabernet and Merlot. During this weekend, from 10am to 6pm, you can meet passionate winemakers, visit their cellars and discover their winemaking history and production philosophy hidden behind every bottle of wine. This event is more than a simple wine festival: two days plenty of initiatives with cellar tours, wine tasting, gastronomic delights, exclusive experience, excursions in the vineyards and moments dedicated to music and art.
Winemakers will welcome you with 1 to 3 free wine tasting (and maybe more!). Keep in mind that a reservation is requested to access to some of the wineries and to the events (check out the program). Don’t miss the Special supper with Winemakers: delicious menus with excellent wines presented by winemakers themselves for dinner on November 9th and lunch on the 10th. And try to attend Open Wineries Dish, a tasting based on traditional cuisine paired with a glass of wine.
Among the news 2019: the practical QRCode system to easily find the locations and the various activities in the region, as for example the Aquileia by bike activity to discover the archaeological beauties of this Roman town, that this year celebrates its 2.200 years from its birth.
Cantine Aperte – Open Wineries is organized by Movimento Turismo del Vino FVG and supported by PromoTurismo FVG.
