Space Suite

Kameha Grand Zurich, the Autograph Collection’s first property in Switzerland, has unveiled a unique new suite

The 224-room hotel is already known for the cool decoration by designer Marcel Wanders. But this latest addition is a world apart — literally. Designed by German artist Michael Najjar to resemble the inside of a space station, the Space Suite goes for $2000 a night. As reported by CNN, Najjar has been training for the last three years “for a civilian journey to space on board Virgin Galactic.”

The Space Suite comes with a “zero gravity” bed which appears to float in the middle of the air, a steam bath with “views into the universe,” and a video installation depicting space debris in Earth’s orbit. The TV is actually linked to the International Space Station’s live feed. The best part of the suite: guests are welcomed with an automated vocal greeting inspired by John Carpenter’s science fiction film “Dark Star.”
